Fastest stage-winning performances
The stage distances — especially before GPS became commonplace — are estimates, so these paces should be treated as indicative; however, since GPS became widely used they are more credible (I do know the reference method is Jones Counter). Net elevation change is the difference between the elevation at the finish and the elevation at the start, using the OS Grid references in the WCR Handbook. GPX files for the historic stage routes would be nice.

Stage Wins By Club
Total individual stage wins (position 1) per club across all years.
Stage Difficulty By Winner Pace
20 current stages ordered by average winning pace (fastest to slowest), over all years the stage has existed in its current form. Years where the stage length shortened dramatically are excluded. 1 = Easiest, 20 = Hardest. N.B. I am fully aware of the "best runners go on the hardest stages" axiom. However when I asked a statistician about this many years ago, he was unpersuaded that other than the elite runners, this effect is as strong as is believed - which is why the second table on this tab exists.
